ANDREA SIMON is a writer and director of documentary films, specializing in history, religion, and the arts. Her previous productions include
Simon's other works include Endings And Beginnings, a one-hour special on the Jewish year produced for Capital Cities/ABC, broadcast in 1993; and Fayum Portraits (1988), an experimental documentary on Egyptian funerary paintings commissioned by the Program for Art on Film, a joint venture of the J. Paul Getty Trust and the Metropolitan Museum.
Simon has won numerous awards for her film and video work, including First Prize Fine Arts, American Film Festival; First Prize Arts, International Film and TV Festival; Best Film on an Art Technique, Montreal Festival of Films on Art; Golden Apple, National Educational Film and Television Festival; Silver Medal, Arts, Houston International Film Festival; Jury Prize, Lausanne; Jury Special Mention, San Francisco Film Festival; Cannes TV Festival (FIPA); and several CINE Golden Eagles.
